Google has recently started the rollout of Android 13 for its very own Pixel phones, and needless to say, the new operating system comes with lots of new features.

One of the improvements that many users might actually even fail to notice concerns the privacy controls that are bundled with the operating system.

Android 13 can automatically clear the clipboard “after a period of time,” therefore making sure that whatever content is in there wouldn’t become available for malicious apps.

In other words, the sensitive data that users typically copy to the clipboard, including here credit card numbers, passwords, phone numbers, and so on, wouldn’t be stored in the clipboard for too long.

“Prevent any unwanted access to your clipboard. If you copy sensitive data like your email address, phone number or login credentials on your device, Android will automatically clear your clipboard history after a period of time,” Google explains in a summary of the new features that are included in Android 13.

If you believe you’ve seen the same behavior elsewhere, it’s because apps like password manages have been offering the same features for quite some time. Enpass, for example, can automatically clear the content copied to the clipboard after a user-defined time, and this makes perfect sense given the application handles very sensitive information, mostly passwords.

Elsewhere, Android 13 also comes with improvements for the way you copy content on your devices and Bluetooth updates.

“Android 13 adopts Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) Audio, a new Bluetooth audio standard that results in lower latency than classic audio. This allows you to hear audio that’s in better sync with the sound’s source, reducing delay. With Bluetooth Low Energy (LE) Audio, you can also enjoy enhanced audio quality and broadcast audio to multiple devices at the same time,” Google explains.
