The driver update adds Microsoft Flight Simulator support

AMD has announced the availability of a new version of its Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition Graphics driver, namely the 20.8.2 (20.20.01.16) package, which adds support for Microsoft Flight Simulator, Mortal Shell, as well as Marvel’s Avengers Open Beta.

In addition to that, the current release also includes compatibility with the A Total War Saga: Troy title and promises to offer up to 12% better FPS performance when using the High preset on the Radeon RX 5700 XT cards.

Besides these improvements, the 20.8.2 update resolves the system hangs encountered when exiting system sleep (on some AMD Ryzen 3000 Series products) and corrects the improper error messages displayed by the Upgrade Advisor.

However, AMD’s driver might still experience a few problems with Radeon RX 5700, Radeon RX 5000, Ryzen 7 3000, and Ryzen 4000 system configurations, as well as with Enhanced Sync, FreeSync, and Performance Metrics Overlay just like described in the Release Notes below.

In terms of compatibility, besides a supported GPU, take into account that your configuration must be running a 64-bit variant of Microsoft’s Windows 7 or 10 operating systems. There are two files available, one for each platform.

Therefore, remove any previous version present on your computer, save and run the appropriate package for your system, wait for all files required to be made available, and follow all instructions displayed on the screen for a complete upgrade.

With this in mind, if you consider applying this release, download AMD Radeon Adrenalin Edition Graphics Driver 20.8.2, install it and perform a reboot once finished. Also, check back with us to stay “updated one minute ago.”
