This is what the new iPhone 5se/6c could look like

Apple is working on a 4-inch iPhone that could launch as soon as next month, and while we’re less than 30 days away from the moment when this device could see daylight, little is known about what it is going to look like.

New drawings coming from 9to5Mac and @OnLeaks have provided us with a closer look at the device, which, judging from these photos, is going to be more of a modern version of the 5s.

First and foremost, despite the design that’s very similar to the one of the 5s, Apple is still making some modifications, including a relocation of the power key. The button is now placed on the side of the phone, just like on the latest iPhone models, as compared to the top of the phone on the older versions.

Then, it looks like the device could come with slightly curved edges that remind of the new iPhone 6 design. And yet, sources claims that the display won’t be as curved as on the new model. The device will have almost the same dimensions of the iPhone 5s, so the chances are that all cases designed for this model will work on the upcoming 4-incher too.

The headphone jack lives on

If these drawings are accurate, then the new iPhone will come with a headphone jack too. Rumor has it that Apple is getting ready to give up on the audio connector in favor of a Lightning port that would take care of everything on the iPhone, but it appears that the change could only be started with the upcoming iPhone 7 due in the fall.

Touch ID will be standard on the new iPhone, which, according to various sources, could be called either iPhone 5se or iPhone 6c. Apple Pay has become a priority for the Cupertino-based firm, and without Touch ID, such a feature has slight chances to be widely adopted.

As far as hardware is concerned, the device is very likely to come with the A9 and M9 chips because Apple doesn’t want the phone to feel outdated and needs to keep up with the other iPhones and the upcoming generation that will bring an upgrade in terms of hardware specs.

The 4-inch model could see daylight on March 15 during an event when the company is also expected to present the new iPad Air 3 and a refresh to the Apple Watch.
