Adobe has announced a major Photoshop update for the iPad, with a couple of new features now available for the Apple tablet as part of the latest update.

Photoshop on the iPad therefore gets cloud documents version history and support for cloud documents in offline mode.

First and foremost, what’s the cloud documents version history? As you could easily guess by simply reading its name, this feature allows you to see the history of your files and go back for up to 60 days, thus restoring a previous version if needed.

“Because Cloud Documents are auto-saved, every document also has a version history. Now you can browse and revert back for up to 60 days of your history. Versions can be bookmarked so they don’t expire, renamed and saved permanently,” Adobe explains.

Cloud documents available offline

The second big feature is offline support for cloud documents, which means you can download your files that are stored in the cloud and work on them without an Internet connection.

“Now you can select the Cloud Documents you want to store locally and access while you are offline. Download Cloud Documents from the home screen. Or, to free up space on your iPad, you can also remove the document from your local cache by selecting “Make online only.” If you change your mind, you can always download it again later,” Adobe explains.

This new feature allows you to make any edits you want to your files in offline mode, and when an Internet connection is available, Photoshop automatically uploads the modified version to the cloud. At the same time, the updated cloud document is automatically synced across all your devices once the Internet connection is live.

The new features are available for Photoshop on the iPad in the latest version released by Adobe.
