In a new filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission social gaming company Zynga has announced that for the second quarter of the year it has obtained revenue of just over 306 million dollars (221 million Euro), which is about 80 percent more than during the same period of last year.

The problem is that the company might be bringing more money in but it is also spending much more, meaning that the actual profit was down about 54% and came in at just 12.5 million dollars (9.11 million Euro).

Adventure World and the Facebook version of Words with Friends were the main drivers behind the success of the company.

152 million unique players monthly are now playing video game created by Zynga.

The company faces a challenge in the future as the media number of daily players has gone down from 59 to 54 gamers.

The Sims Social from Electronic Arts has recently made a determined assault on Zynga's Facebook hits.
