Describe what you’re looking for using common terms

Evernote on the Mac just got a major new update which includes Descriptive Search which, as its name implies, allows you to describe what you’re looking for using common terms.

Evernote’s Descriptive Search feature is similar to Siri’s way of understanding what it is that you want. Here are some example searches from the Evernote blog:

“Images from Prague since 2012” “Recipes with photos tagged vegetarian” “Powerpoint from last week”

Users can just type these kinds of queries into the search bar and Evernote’s new algorithms will understand that you’re looking for that specific order of things. Pretty cool, huh?

For the moment, Descriptive Search is available only in English and only in Evernote for Mac. The developers promise to add more languages and more supported platforms soon enough. Download Evernote 5.5.0 for your Mac right now and give it a try.
