One of the handsets that Chinese mobile phone maker Xiaomi is expected to unveil very soon is the Xiaomi Red Rice, a quad-core phone that should land on shelves with a very affordable price tag attached to it, at only 999 Yuan (around $163 / €125).

The upcoming device has just made an appearance in the AnTuTu benchmarking stats, featuring a 1.5GHz MT6589T processor, after already receiving approvals from China’s Ministry of Communication.

As GizChina notes, the Android handset sports the model number HM2013022, which falls in line with the expected “Red Rice” name it will have.

The yet unofficial device is also said to pack a 720 x 1280 display, 1GB of RAM inside, an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and a 1.2-megapixel front camera for video calling. Keep an eye on this space for additional details on this smartphone.
