The team at Microsoft working on the Xbox One says that the new reputation system it is implementing is designed to make sure that all players can choose who to play with and how they want to interact with the wider community.

Micheal Dunn, a program manager working on Xbox Live, states in an official blog post that, "Our new reputation model helps expose people that aren’t fun to be around and creates real consequences for trouble-makers that harass our good players."

A sophisticated algorithm will use in-game behavior and reports from players to evaluate each gamer and assign a rating that ranges from Green to Red and will give other users information about conduct.

On the Xbox One, players will be able to select what kind of category to play with and the team will have a screening system in place to make sure that no one is penalized without a clear reason.

The new console is set to launch in November.
