Yusuf Mehdi, senior vice president of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business, reveals that the coming Xbox One home console is designed to introduce a new type of dashboard that mixes traditional elements and Windows 8 elements.

The new console is designed to support complex gesture and vocal controls and will allow players to watch movies, play games, and browse the Internet at the same time, with quick switching between the various tasks.

Xbox One will allow players to pinch in order to control what they see on the main screen and how the console can mix live television and interactivity.

The new console is also designed to allow for full HD Skype calls and introduces a new social layer that allows players to discover new content and explore it using voice commands and input from friends.

Xbox One will also allow players to pin content and resume playback regardless of location.
