Colin Sebastian, an analyst watching the video game industry, believes that, when the next-gen devices launch, the Xbox One from Microsoft might benefit from having two or three times as many units available as the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

In a note to investors quoted by VG247 the analyst states that after the problems it faced around E3 2013 Microsoft is recovering well.

He adds, "our supply chain checks suggest Microsoft may have the benefit of a 2-3x unit advantage at launch compared to Sony’s PS4."

Sebastian also mentions that Microsoft is working with partners to eliminate the pricing gap between the Xbox One and the PS4, which currently stands at 100 dollars or Euro.

The next-gen devices from both Sony and Microsoft are set to be launched in November of this year.
