The speed of the graphics processing unit inside the Xbox One, which is manufactured by AMD, is being increased by 100 percent in order to match the performance of the PlayStation 4 from Sony.

Examiner reports that a source inside Microsoft states that the rumors about a better GPU are true and that the team working on the Xbox One has “been reacting to Sony ever since the first leaks of both systems.”

Apparently, only first-party developers have official information about the upgrade in GPU processing power.

Both next-gen consoles are set to arrive in November of this year, although neither Sony nor Microsoft has offered exact dates.

Both companies have said that the best-seller will be determined by the game line-up and not by the power of each platform’s hardware.
