Microsoft has taken the Xbox Entertainment Awards website down for maintenance after a security breach has apparently leaked the details of all the voters who participated in the survey, including names, email addresses and gamertags.

Microsoft started the Xbox Entertainment Awards competition yesterday by setting up a website and allowing visitors to fill in their picks for many different categories.

Voters were further enticed to participate with special rewards, but it seems that the website wasn't so secure, as MCV reports that a security glitch allowed some visitors to see a list of all the voters who participated until that point.

What's more, the list also included their real names, email addresses, and gamertags, meaning the personal info could easily be used by malicious individuals to steal their identities.

Microsoft has revealed a statement about this error, saying that it's taken the website offline to investigate a technical issue.
