More XOLO users out there can now download and install the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system on their devices, as the company has started to push the update to the owners of Q1000 Opus handsets in the country.

The new firmware release is currently up for grabs for users both over-the-air and manually via the company’s website, it seems.

The XOLO Q1000 Opus was made official in December last year with the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system loaded on top, which means that there are indeed a great deal of new features to enjoy in the aforementioned update.

As AndroidOS notes, the list of changes will include the usual improvements to the dialer application, as well as better download apps.

Moreover, the new operating system flavor should provide users with support for cloud printing, along with an immersive mode, and the possibility to set Hangouts as your main SMS/ MMS app.

Additionally, the Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system will provide users with a series of UI tweaks, as well as with performance improvements, among other enhancements.

Those of you interested in grabbing the new operating system update over the air will find it available as a 235MB download. You might want to connect to a Wi-Fi network before kicking off the download process.

As soon as the update is available for their devices, users will receive a notification on the matter, and they will be provided with the option to start downloading the new OS version right away.

Those who would rather go for the manual download should head over to XOLO’s website to grab the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update and then install it on their mobile phones.

After downloading the software, they will need to rename it to update.zip, and then transfer the file to their Q1000 Opus smartphones in the root directory.

Next, they will need to open the XOLO Care App, click on Update, and then select Check for software updates.

The smartphone will automatically recognize the update file that has been copied to the smartphone during the previous step, and all that users will need to do will be to click on Continue and wait for the update process to complete to have the latest Android OS version loaded on their smartphones.

Additional details on how to install the new Android 4.4.2 KitKat platform release can be found on the mobile phone maker’s website, so head over there to learn specifics on this.
