Video game developer Blizzard says that it is preparing a new Flexible Raid System for its MMO World of Warcraft, designed to allow players to group up with various numbers of players without having to worry about items or difficulty.

The team says that the new system will slot in between the already existing Raid Finder and Normal Difficulty, with parties of 10 to 25 players taking part.

In an announcement, Blizzard states, “So if you switch between 14 players one week and 22 the next, the difficulty will adjust automatically.”

There are no item requirements for the Flexible Raid System, but no matchmaking is being offered, which means players will have to manually recruit friends.

Various World of Warcraft servers will get access to the new raid system in steps and Blizzard plans to continue to tweak the experience.
