Windows 9 is expected to be unveiled in April 2015, but according to some recent reports, the new operating system is scheduled to reach RTM this year in October.

On the other hand, Microsoft watcher Mary Jo Foley claims, via some unofficial sources, that Windows 9 won’t be released to manufacturing this year and Microsoft is still planning to release the new OS in April 2015, so rumors that leaks could come later this year are inaccurate.

Windows 9 is expected to bring back the Start Menu in Windows, but according to a new report, the upcoming operating system might actually pack only minor changes as compared to the existing Windows 8.1 version.

Microsoft is projected to break the news on Windows 9 at the BUILD 2014 developer conference in April this year, so take everything with a pinch of salt until we hear something official from the company.
