If you really want to find out whether Windows 8 is successful or not, the answer pretty much depends on whom you ask.
While Microsoft claims that Windows 8’s sales performance is in line with the one of Windows 7 after launch, analysts and experts around the world think otherwise.
But statistics provided by StatCounter for the month of May reveal that Windows 8 has greatly improved its market share in the first 15 days of this month.
At this point, Windows 8 is installed on 5.24 percent of computers worldwide, while Windows Vista is still powering 5.89 percent of systems. Windows 7 obviously continues to be the undisputed leader with a market share of no less than 53.86 percent.
Linux is still far behind with 1.23 percent, while iOS is a bit more popular with 3.76 percent.
