Canadian carrier Virgin Mobile has just announced that it will add the white flavor of the Samsung Galaxy 551 to its portfolio of Android smartphones.

According to the guys over at MobileSyrup, the White Samsung Galaxy 551 will be available in “early December” for $179.99 (130 EUR) without any commitment.

It will be interesting to see if the entry-level Samsung Galaxy 551 will be delivered with Android 2.2 Froyo on board, or it will run Gingerbread.

Samsung initially launched the device with Froyo, but confirmed that Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread will be available soon.

The phone is equipped with a 600 Mhz processor and packs 160 MB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 1GB memory included).

White Samsung Galaxy 551 is expected to be available for free on Virgin Mobile SuperTab.
