A new flavor of the WhatsApp Messenger is now rolling out to devices running under Google’s Android operating system, namely version 2.9.5196, set to provide them with a taste of the latest improvements that WhatsApp Inc has included in the chat app.

The new release was pushed to devices with a raised group chat limit to 50 participants per group, up from 30 participants that could engage into a conversation before.

The feature was packed in WhatsApp several days ago, but it arrived in the Google Play Store only in version 2.9.5196, most probably accompanied by the various fixes and performance enhancements that were spotted in the latest available builds.

Users who have WhatsApp Messenger installed should already be receiving the new 2.9.5196 version on their devices. The rest of them can find the application on Softpedia via this link, with support for Android 2.1 or newer devices.
