14 DAY TRIAL // Erykah Badu has a very peculiar way of making headlines and an even more peculiar one of keeping them. On Friday, as WPIX reporter Mario Diaz was doing a live report from New York on Shia LaBeouf’s arrest, she trolled him big time.
A Vine of the incident is embedded below. You can see Erykah strolling behind Diaz and making an obscene gesture at the camera, then walk right next to him and try to kiss him on the cheek.
The second video embedded below also has audio, so you can hear how Diaz tried to laugh off the rude interruption. Clearly, he has no idea who the woman was and thought she was some “admirer” or fan of some sorts.
It’s gone viral since, picking up speed once the singer tried to laugh off reports that she’d crashed the live report. She actually tried to say that she wasn’t the woman in the video though, honestly, it’s hard to mistake Erykah for any other woman.
From Diaz’s tweets, his wife and kid witnessed the whole scene, “she saw the roll up, you putting on hat & everything,” as he told the singer. Eventually, Erykah admitted to the obvious: she was the “crazy woman” attacking the reporter and she even managed to offer an apology, saying she was “sorry.”
No word yet whether the whole thing was supposed to serve some higher purpose or not but, to this minute, Erykah is still very amused by her feat, as you can infer from her tweets.
