Ragnar Tornquist, the leader of the development team working on Dreamfall Chapters: The Longest Journey, believes that, when it comes to storytelling, video games are a medium that sees more experimentation than TV shows.

His statement came during at panel at Rezzed 2013, when he was refuting a point made by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.

Ragnar Tornquist is quoted by Eurogamer as saying, “Games are where storytelling is being experimented on the most. Take Journey, one of the best games I’ve ever played – it tells an amazing story through pictures and sound that you just wouldn’t see in a TV show.”

The developer also mentioned The Last of Us, a game from Naughty Dog, as an example of emotion and interesting storytelling.

There are more opinions about the subjects in the full video of the Rezzed panel, embedded above.
