Galaxy Nexus, the first smartphone in the world to land on shelves with the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform, has been allegedly hit by a series of issues affecting the strength of its network signal. Its turns out that there is no issue with the signal strength, but that the problem resides in the manner in which the device displays the signal bars.

The phone’s reception is great, Verizon and testers alike suggest. However, Galaxy Nexus does have a problem with the way in which it displays the signal, and a fix for that will arrive soon.

According to Verizon, the handset is comparing the 4G signal with the 3G one, and treats it as if it were the latter. Thus, although the connectivity is great, it shows less signal bars than it should. The upcoming software update for the device will adjust the signal scale, and all will be solved.
