Today is the big day for Facebook fans who own a device running under Google’s Android operating system, as the new Facebook Home is set to become available for them, albeit on a small number of devices.

In preparation for the launch, Facebook has released an updated version of its official Facebook app for Android, adding new permissions for Facebook Home to it.

Additionally, the new application release arrives on devices with a series of bug fixes, although none of them has been detailed. Users can download the updated software via this link.

Also starting today, the aforementioned Facebook Home will arrive on shelves on top of HTC First, the only device to have been launched so far with it right out of the box. The smartphone is available for purchase in the US via AT&T, with a price tag of $99 attached to it.
