Jonathan Morin, the creative director working on Watch Dogs at Ubisoft, says that his team benefited from the existence of limits during the development process, as they managed to create a complex open city for players to explore.

He tells the official PlayStation Blog that “If you want to make a game that has quality and in which everything reacts with each other in an elegant way, the only way to pull it off is to understand the barriers.”

Watch Dogs will give gamers freedom to move around and hack services all around a futuristic version of Chicago.

Ubisoft has suggested that the location was chosen because it introduces diverse landscapes, and that the Watch Dogs experience can also take place in other cities.

The game is set to arrive in the fall on both current and next-gen devices.
