The development team at The Creative Assembly has offered some information on the scale of its upcoming Total War: Rome 2 strategy game, saying that players will be able to create more than 500 different units when all the factions in the title are taken into account.

Apparently, players will also be able to explore 183 map regions, which is more than double the amount in Total War: Shogun 2, according to PC Gamer.

Rome 2 will use a new engine that will allow players to mix land and naval units in the same battle.

The game is designed to enhance the political options for the Roman faction, in order to simulate the rivalries between families.

Total War: Rome 2 will be launched on the PC in late October of this year.
