Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics have confirmed that British actress Camilla Luddington will lend her voice to Lara Croft in the next year’s Tomb Raider reboot.

The Tomb Raider series impressed fans not just through some great gameplay but also through the appeal of its heroine, Lara Croft, a British explorer who went on all sorts of adventures.

For the next installment in the series, which will depict a younger and more inexperienced Lara, Crystal Dynamics has revealed that she’ll be voiced by British actress Camilla Luddington.

According to the studio, after an international talent search, she “stood out as delivering both a depth of emotion and the youthful tone needed for Lara Croft in the upcoming reimagining of the Tomb Raider franchise.”

Previous roles for the British actress include cable TV shows like Californication and True Blood.

Her first appearances in the form of the voice actress for Lara Croft will be at the Tomb Raider panels during Nerd HQ and the San Diego Comic-Con next month.
