Samsung has been one of the original key tech players that expressed an interest for smartwatches. Ahead of many, the Korean company rolled out the Galaxy Gear smartwatch almost a year ago at IFA 2013 in Berlin.

Since adopters of its first smartwatch complained that the Galaxy Gear’s app ecosystem was a scarce one, Samsung has made it its mission to get developers to create apps for its smartwatches. And its efforts appear to be paying off.

The company has announced that there are now more than 1,000 apps available for its Gear line of smartwatches.

And to celebrate this event, Samsung has released a huge infographic that offers some details about the top 5 apps, including Drink Water and Runtastic. The image also gives us a glimpse at a list of popular apps from different categories.

Samsung might have around 1,000 apps in its store, but this number is most likely to see an explosive growth because the Korean tech giant is expected to launch a bunch of new models soon. The Gear 3 or Gear Solo has already been pegged for IFA 2014.

Another model with a round display is most likely to show its face in the months following the event.
