BioWare, the well regarded developer of Dragon Age Origins, has announced that on September 7, 2010 gamers will be able to get access to yet another piece of downloadable content for the game, called Witch Hunt, that is set to tell the story of what happened to Morrigan after the end of the single player narrative.

The Witch Hunt will be taking place one year after the events of Dragon Age Origins, with the world beginning to stabilize after the Archdemon was slain by the Grey Warden and by his companions.

BioWare says that Morrigan, who was said to have fled to Orlais, seems to have returned to the areas of Ferelden where the player originally met her and her mother and an final meeting is needed to set things straight.

The official information coming from the developers do not mention the dramatic choices involving Morrigan that happen towards the end of the Origins narrative, which could mean that the new DLC is designed to check the game to see what the player chose and present a different version of its own story.

BioWare also mentions that the new content will come packed with important rewards, probably weapons and armour, that can be then transferred and used in Origins and in Awakenings, and that players will be able to create a powerful new character in order to play through Witch Hunt.

One new character for Witch Hunt, named Ariane, has been unveiled.

The Witch Hunt will cost 560 Microsoft Points, which is about 7 dollars, and will be available on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC.

At the moment BioWare is working on Dragon Age 2, the sequel to Origins, which is set to arrive in March 2011.

Presumably the new DLC will offer some kind of bridge to the new game and it would be no surprise if new main character Hawke is somehow involved.
