Electronic Arts and Maxis have released a few more details about The Sims 4, the next installment in their hugely successful franchise, and emphasized that the game would have a single-player offline experience.
The companies are, thus, dispelling any rumors about a mandatory online connection.
EA and Maxis have gone through some tough times recently due to the problematic release of SimCity, which required a permanent Internet connection to work.
After confirming yesterday that The Sims 4 is in development, rumors started appearing about the game also requiring a constant web connection.
That isn't true, as the two companies have confirmed on the EA blog that The Sims 4 has a single-player offline experience.
While the game will be playable in such a mode, EA emphasizes that there will be systems that help players to "effortlessly share their creativity with friends and fans."
As of yet, no other details are known but The Sims 4 is expected to appear in 2014 for PC and Mac.
