The development teams that are working on the new Tom Clancy’s The Division at Ubisoft are delivering a new video for the game, which is designed to give those interested more details about the experience, its character design and the way the open world will be used to enhance gameplay.

The footage features details offered by Ryan Barnard, the game director, who also explains how his team is aiming to create an entirely unique experience that mixes a variety of genres.

The Division will take gamers to New York soon after Black Friday, when a terrible plague has spread rapidly between citizens and has crippled civilization as we know it.

Players will have to choose a class and then work in groups in order to deal with a variety of threats, while also trying to find out what caused the mysterious disease.

Ubisoft says that it will take elements of the MMO space, but that it is also introducing core role-playing and shooter mechanics.

The Division was initially set to be launched on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft and the PlayStation 4 during the coming fall, but the publisher has delayed it for the same period in 2015, although some consider that release window to be optimistic.
