The development team at 2K Marin is ready to offer some more information about the game world featured in the coming The Bureau: XCOM Declassified and the real-world inspiration that drove its creation.

In a video for SpiderDuck, Alyssa Finley, a vice president of product development at the studio, says that her team tried to find a look that reflected the middle of the XX century while suggesting that players and their alien opponents had access to much better tech.

The new XCOM title is designed to focus on third-person action, with players able to command a squad and use special powers to defeat their enemies.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is set to launch on the PC, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the PlayStation 3 from Sony on August 20.
