HTC might have it on shelves two weeks after the March 25 launch

Last week during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung Electronics has officially announced the upcoming availability of Galaxy S5, its latest Android-based flagship handset.

The smartphone, said to be one of the most innovative in the company’s lineup, is set to become available for purchase as soon as April 11, though it appears that flagship handsets from other vendors might arrive on the market before it.

We already learned that Sony Mobile is set to release its brand new Xperia Z2 smartphone before the end of this month, even in Samsung’s homeland market, but it seems that this is not the only company set to make such a move.

According to the latest reports out there, HTC might be walking the very same path with its upcoming All New HTC One, which is expected to become official on March 25.

The Taiwanese mobile phone maker has already confirmed plans to unveil the smartphone at the end of March, though it did not provide details on when we might see it on shelves.

However, a tweet coming from HTCFamily.ru claims that the upcoming mobile phone will become available for purchase in early April, roughly two weeks after its official unveiling.

This means that HTC might have the phone up for grabs around April 8, which would be three days before Samsung’s Galaxy S5 is released on April 11.

At the same time, HTC is said to be planning on releasing the device in 110 countries around the world, which should ensure wider reach when compared to what HTC One enjoyed last year.

For those out of the loop, we should note that HTC has had some problems with component supplies for last year’s flagship device, which resulted in lack of stock for several weeks and in very low initial sales.

This year’s device, however, might suffer a different fate, and the variety of technology advancements that HTC is reportedly planning for it could turn it into a real winner.

However, with no official confirmation on the phone’s arrival date, we’ll take the info above with a grain of salt for the time being.

As a quick reminder, the All New HTC One is expected to hit the market with a 5-inch full HD touchscreen display, a Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, and dual 5-megapixel cameras on the back. It will run under the Android 4.4 KitKat operating system right from the start.
