Aussie Android fans rejoice as Telstra has just confirmed Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is now available for Samsung Galaxy S II owners.

Keep in mind that the update has just been released so you might experience abysmal download speeds. It’s also important to understand that this update will only work on Galaxy S II models and not Galaxy S II 4G.

There are two ways to get the update on the phone. Firstly, Galaxy S II owners will get a notification on their phones asking to update.

Simply follow the steps to download and install Android 4.0 ICS. Users can also check manually for the update by going to Settings / About Phone / Software Update.

The second option requires users to install the latest version of Samsung Kies desktop software on their PCs and connect the Galaxy S II via a USB cable. As soon as the phone is connected, a message should popup on the monitor asking users to do the update.
