Next generation devices might also support the game

The upcoming Tekken x Street Fighter crossover might be set to launch in late 2013, but it seems that its main platforms will be the currently available PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and not next-generation devices.

Katsuhiro Harada, who is the main producer working on Tekken x Street Fighter, has told Eurogamer that, “There’s still a large number of players out there with a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 who are looking forward to the game. So we feel it’s probably more relevant to get the title out to them on the current hardware.”

He added, “We’re not completely sure, but that’s the direction at this moment.”

Street Fighter x Tekken, which was developed by Capcom, launched earlier during 2012 and Tekken x Street Fighter is being created by a Namco Bandai team.

Sony and Microsoft have not offered any information on the PlayStation 4 or the Xbox 720, but that is expected to change before the end of the year.
