TRENDnet's latest firmware releases aim at the TEW-638PAP, TEW-691GR, TEW-639GR and TEW-692GR products. These new updates improve security with Telnet access.

Telnet is a network protocol used on the Internet or local area networks to provide a bidirectional interactive text-oriented communication facility using a virtual terminal connection.

For the TEW-692GR, the new firmware adds Russian language support, improves modem compatibility, increases DDNS field input limit and is IPv6 Gold logo certified.

The update procedure is simple and requires you to download the archive for your specific router model and extract its content to an accessible location.

Next, log into the router's configuration page (default IP is 192.168.10.1) and navigate to the “Administrator” section. Select “Firmware Upgrade” and browse for the recently unzipped file.

Click “Apply” and wait patiently until the upload is complete and the device reboots.

Below are the links to the new firmware versions. Download and install the one that suits your router in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
