Video game publisher THQ has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Innovative Leisure, a new developer created by industry veterans, aimed at publishing video games for digital and mobile platforms starting with this year.

The new company is staffed by the likes of Seamus Blackley, who is known as the father of the Xbox, and Van Burnham, Ed Logg, Rich Adam, Tim Skelly, Owen Rubin and Ed Rotberg.

Danny Bilson, the executive vice president of Core Games at THQ, stated, “We are always looking to work with the best creative talent in the video games industry and we feel this relationship with Innovative Leisure reinforces our goal.”

Seamus Blackley, the president of Innovative Leisure, added, “It’s a great honor (and a lot of fun) to get the opportunity to work with so many of the designers responsible for the gameplay mechanics that form the basis of our whole medium. We’re excited about getting to make and release a bunch of awesome games.”
