Sid Meier's Starships is launching today and the development team at Firaxis is aiming to make sure that all those who pick up the new title will be able to get right into the galactic conquest action by offering a new video which explains the basics of the experience and offers some tips for successful campaigns.

The new game from Firaxis has two layers, one in which gamers will have to decide which areas of the galaxy to visit and how to use their limited resources, and another in which the player-controlled fleet will fight others either to complete missions or to take over planets from other federations.

The new Sid Meier-designed experience manages to mix the two very well and the variety of included choices means that every campaign is unique and creates some interesting stories.

The biggest long-term issue for the game is that it does not offer a multiplayer mode, which means that gamers will always only be confronted with the gameplay strategies created by the computer opponents.

The title is offered on the PC via Steam and gamers can get it for 14.99 dollars or Euro.

We have more information about the title in the official Softpedia review for Sid Meier's Starships.
