Video game publisher Electronic Arts and media conglomerate Disney are announcing that they are entering into an exclusive agreement which will see EA get the exclusive right to develop and sell Star Wars-themed video games for the coming year.

Frank Gibeau, the leader of the Labels division, states in an announcement, "While we don't have any details to share today on specific titles, our development teams are already brimming with design ideas."

He says that teams at BioWare, DICE and Visceral are already working on concepts linked to Star Wars.

Disney and Electronic Arts have not disclosed the financial terms of their agreement and it's unclear when the first official piece of information about the project will be offered.

Disney is also keeping the rights to mobile, social, tablet and online titles linked to Star Wars.
