Today, Sony Mobile has officially announced the availability of its Xperia Z2a smartphone in Taiwan, with support for the full-band 4G LTE (700MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz) networks in the country.

The new handset is basically a new flavor of the Xperia ZL2 (SOL25) smartphone that went official in Japan at au by KDDI recently, though there is one major difference between them, it seems.

The new Xperia Z2a will arrive on the market with 16GB of internal memory, while the Xperia ZL2 has been announced with 32GB of storage, as XperiaBlog explains.

Moreover, as can be seen in the photos available with the new device, the Sony logo is present on its back cover in the middle, with the Xperia logo placed at the bottom. The Xperia ZL2 has been launched with the Xperia logo in the middle and the au one at the bottom.

The rest of the phone’s hardware specifications remain the same, which means that users in Taiwan will enjoy a 5.0-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 1080p resolution.

Moreover, the phone arrives on the market with a Snapdragon 801 (MSM8974AB) chipset inside, as well as with 3GB of RAM, which means that it will be capable of providing users with highly appealing performance capabilities.

On the back, the new Xperia Z2a sports a 20.7-megapixel camera with Exmor RS sensor, capable of recording videos in 4K resolution, complemented by a 2MP front camera for making video calls while on the go.

The same as the Xperia Z2 before it, the new smartphone will sport IP55/IP58 certification for dust and water resistance. The phone will run under Android 4.4.2 KitKat when released.

According to Sony, the mobile phone is set to become available for purchase in Taiwan sometimes in July, and will be available in three different color versions, including black, white and turquoise. Unfortunately, no info on the phone’s pricing has been provided as of now.

In addition to Xperia Z2a, Sony has also announced the release of the newly unveiled Xperia T3 smartphone on the market in Taiwan. The smartphone is set to arrive there in July as well, but details on its pricing haven’t been unveiled either.

Xperia T3 was introduced last week with a 5.3-inch HD screen, a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon CPU, and 1GB of RAM. Moreover, it features 8GB of internal memory and a microSD card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage.

Moreover, the handset packs an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.1MP front camera, 4G LTE, a 2500mAh battery, and Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat operating system loaded on top.
