14 DAY TRIAL // Few details on Sony’s new Android flagship smartphone have been unveiled until recently, but we knew the device is expected to arrive sometime in September.
Well, it looks like more information on the upcoming Xperia high-end device has just surfaced online. The allegedly Sony Xperia Z is possibly the next top-tier Android smartphone launched by the Japanese company.
The good news is that the smartphone will be powered by Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean operating system. In addition, the Xperia Z will be equipped with a quad-core processor, though there are no other details on this one yet.
The only thing that might go as a downside is the fact that we’re still not sure whether the Xperia Z comes with 4G LTE support. However, we can speculate that two versions of the smartphone will be launched on the market in case Sony decides to add LTE technology to Xperia Z.
Given that LTE networks are only available in several countries, the international model is likely to come with HSPA+ support, while the LTE-enabled version will probably make its way in North America and other regions with 4G network coverage.
Just like the Xperia ion that boasts an impressive 12-megapixel rear camera, the upcoming Sony Xperia Z will be delivered with a high-quality photo snapper. In fact, the latter is said to pack a 13-megapixel main camera with Sony’s Exmor R sensor.
Furthermore, the Xperia Z sports a large 4.6-inch HD (720 x 1280 pixels) capacitive touchscreen display, as well as a front-facing camera for video calls. The secondary camera features the ability to record HD (720p) videos.
The smartphone embeds 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. There are no details on the microSD card slot, but rumor has it that the Xperia Z will come with microSIM support and NFC (Near Field Communication) technology.
