Sony’s yet unannounced Xperia Sirius smartphone has made headlines quite a few times lately, and it is expected to emerge in news even more moving forth, as Sony is reportedly gearing up to make it official soon.

The handset was spotted only recently in a series of leaked photos, including some that showed its UI, and which suggested that Sony might launch it with Android 4.3 loaded on top right from the start.

However, new info coming from XDA-Developers Forum member DooMLoRD suggests that the device will be launched, in fact, with Android 4.4.2 KitKat on top right from the beginning (firmware version 17.1.x.x.x).

Sony’s Xperia Sirius is expected to be announced at MWC 2014 as a refreshed Xperia Z1 smartphone, supposedly packing a larger, 5.2-inch screen, 3GB of RAM, and other hardware enhancements as well. Stay tuned for more on the matter.
