Sony has just confirmed that the Xperia S is now shipping globally to network operators and authorized resellers.
While the smartphone has yet to make its debut on the market, now it’s just a matter of time, several days perhaps, until it arrives in stock.
According to Sony, customers who are waiting for the Xperia S should start asking their local carriers or retailers for the availability of the smartphone in a few days.
The Xperia S is the first Sony-branded Android smartphone and is part of a larger Xperia NXT series of handsets, which was officially announced last month at the Mobile World Congress.
To rehash, Sony Xperia S is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system, but it will soon get an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich.
On the inside, the device is equipped with a dual-core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, 32GB onboard memory and 1 GB of RAM.
