Bethesda and Zenimax, the two companies behind the very successful The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim role-playing game, have filed a new trademark for the word Dragonborn, which might be the title of the next expansion for the massive title.

While Bethesda is quite secretive about its DLC plans, Zenimax has always made sure to deliver a few hints to the public by registering their names as trademarks with the U.S Patent Office.

After hearing about Dawnguard, the first actual expansion for Skyrim, at the beginning of the year, Zenimax has filed a new request for Dragonborn, who is the actual protagonist in the RPG.

While this might actually be an attempt at stopping other companies from capitalizing on the popularity of the Dragonborn name, the trademark filing, via Fusibile, mentions that Zenimax will use it for “Computer game software for use with computers and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices”.

This description definitely relates to downloadable content, so perhaps Skyrims owners will get to enjoy the Dragonborn DLC after the release of Dawnguard.
