14 DAY TRIAL // The development team at Maxis announces that it is taking the servers for SimCity offline today starting at 9 AM Greenwich Mean Time for two hours in order to deliver the much-awaited Update 2.0 for the video game.
The online nature of the experience means that players will be unable to log in and play SimCity.
Michael Donahoe, a community manager working at Maxis, states on the official blog that, “Choosing a time to issue a major Update is never easy, but after looking our peak player time, we've concluded 9pm GMT is the best window for us to make these improvements.”
Update 2.0 for SimCity is designed to introduce a number of new gameplay options and will also fix most of the problems that the community has reported since launch.
