Coming off a very good month of March, when a new crowdfunding monthly record has been registered for the upcoming role-playing game Shroud of the Avatar, developer Portalarium now prepares for the celebration of one year since the Kickstarter campaign successfully ended.

Shroud of the Avatar is a multiplayer fantasy game for the PC, designed as a spiritual successor to legendary designer Richard Garriot's previous work in the role-playing genre, and expected to launch sometime at the end of 2014.

It is one of the massively successful Kickstarter stories, along with Divinity: Original Sin, Double Fine's Broken Age and the other haute-couture creations that helped establish the crowdfunding platform.

In order to offer their supporters proper festivities, Portalarium has teamed up with the reputable hardware assembler Alienware, and together the two companies will host some special events in the following days.

April 7 will mark the day when the Founder level pledges will close, and the new higher priced Benefactor packs will take their place.

Until then, there are various promotions scheduled for the days leading up to and including April 7, such as daily one-hour developer hangouts that offer a closer look at the game development process, with a final 12-hour live stream marathon spanning from noon to midnight, taking place on April 7 and including special guests and exciting announcements.

From morning to midnight, backers will have access to Release 4 and there will be various prize giveaways throughout the entire week, culminating with the April 7 drawing for one Alienware branded gaming laptop, as well as with the April 7 drawing for one trip to Austin, Texas, for a tour of the Portalarium studios and some brainstorming with the Shroud of the Avatar team.

Additionally, there will be Founder Adventure Pledges given away during each daily hangout, complete with Weekend Access Passes to Release 5, given away each day as well.

Furthermore, for the next three weeks, Alienware is sponsoring 250 weekend access keys to Shroud of the Avatar Early Release 5, taking place later this month.

The keys are available through the Alienware Arena Shroud of the Avatar Group, and those who want to learn more about the promotion can do so on the event website.

Alienware is also sponsoring $20 / €15 pledge upgrade coupons to members of the Alienware Arena community, coupons which are good for new backers as well as current ones, seeking to upgrade their accounts, with more information available on the promotion website.
