Shigeru Miyamoto is already 60 years old, and the legendary developer continues to do a lot of work inside Nintendo, even though he is sometimes thinking about retirement.

But the creator of Mario and Zelda is also preparing his employer for the moment when he will no longer be active, by working with a number of younger developers.

He tells Gamespot that “the number of projects I’m involved in–and the volume of my work–hasn’t changed at all.”

He adds, “what I’m doing is pretending like I’m not working on half the projects that I would normally be working on to try to get the younger staff to be more involved.”

Rumors are talking about new Zelda and Mario projects that Shigeru Miyamoto is working on for the Nintendo Wii U.
