But beta keeps going

The space strategy genre was going to welcome a new member to the family when Shattered Suns was supposed to be released by the end of this month. Still, it seems that the almighty gods of gaming and further polishing were completely against Shattered Suns and decided to delay it until the 19th of August 2008. The official reason was the second beta phase which, according to developers Clear Crown Studios, was launched later than originally planned. Three months later, it appears. But we're going to forgive the devs for the delay since Shattered Suns promises to be a great title that will have a lot to say regarding the future of space strategy games (and, why not, RTS games in general). The main reason that makes me say it is the fact that the game will offer an "open-world" campaign, which means that you won't be limited and obliged to follow a pre-defined way of conquering the world, but only follow your ego and do everything as you please.

Back to the delay. It's not the first one, since the game was scheduled for a late 2007 release which got delayed because the beta testers (from the first beta stage) wanted more features. They have, therefore, introduced them and started the second beta in April. And, for the sake of getting the game before Duke Nukem Forever is released, we truly hope that the testers will be pleased with what they see and none will ask for a new button or planet or God knows what.

Still, Clear Crown Studios are probably aware that many people would already like to play the game. If you are one of them, go right now to the Shattered Suns official website and get involved in the second beta of the game. Just do the entire gaming world a favor and don't ask for more features (or further polishing!)
