MTV Games and developer Harmonix have announced that, this week, fans of the Rock Band experience will be able to enjoy a number of songs from The White Stripes, The Futureheads, The James Gang and Shaimus. The songs will be arriving on the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Nintendo Wii.

The tracks that players will be able to jam to are: “Decent Days & Nights” and “Hounds of Love” from The Futureheads; The James Gang playing “Walk Away;” Neil Peart with “The Hockey Theme;” “All of This” and “Tie You Down” from Shaimus, and three tracks from The White Stripes, “Fell in Love with a Girl,” one of the first hits, “Seven Nation Army,” the track that established their fame, and “You Don’t Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You’re Told).”

On the Microsoft made platform and on the Nintendo Wii, players will get the songs today, while those using the PlayStation 3 for their gaming needs will need to wait two days more.

The pricing scheme is the same that Harmonix and MTV Games have used for all their downloadable content, the entire pack being the most attractive option, costing 440 Microsoft Points or its equivalent in real-life money. On the Nintendo Wii, players can pick up each individual track for the price of 200 Wii Points.

Harmonix and MTV Games seem determined to keep offering new songs for fans for every week, aiming to keep them occupied as the two companies work on creating Green Day Rock Band, the next standalone release, probably not arriving before fall. There are also rumors that a full-fledged Rock Band 3 is under development, set to arrive in 2011 with some fresh and intriguing features.
