WP Security Audit Log is a WordPress plugin that logs all the actions and events that take place under your website’s “hood.” The plugin is useful not only in case of a data breach, but also for preventing one.

The plugin is designed to generate a security alert when certain actions are detected. For instance, if a new user is created either via registration or by another user, when users change a role or password, when a file is uploaded or delete, and when a plugin is modified.

Failed login attempts, changes made to settings, operations with widgets, modifications made to existing posts, and new posts are also detected.

Basically, every action that takes place in a website’s backend is tracked to help administrators prevent data breaches, or if they occur, to help them determine their cause.

The security alerts generated by WP Security Audit are for the following categories: blog posts, pages, custom posts, widgets, users, user profiles, plugins and themes, settings and system, and multisite network activity.

The plugin works not only with WordPress sites or blogs, but also with Multisite installations.

You can download WP Security Audit Log from Softpedia. Additional details are available on the plugin’s official WordPress page.
