South Korean mobile phone maker Samsung went official with two new handsets powered by its bada operating system, namely Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro. According to the company, the new devices come to the market as an extension of the Wave range and are capable of delivering a fully integrated experience for users actively involved in social networking.

The new devices, the Wave 2 (S5250) and Wave 2 Pro (S5330), are put on display at the CommunicAsia conference in Singapore. According to the company, they come with instant connectivity, so that one can keep in touch with friends at all times. Both include Samsung's Social Hub, which integrates contact details, social networks, and email services in a single space. Moreover, the two phones come with business features, proving to be a great option for users of all types.

“The Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro are testament to Samsung's continuing commitment to deliver a smartphone for every lifestyle,” said JK Shin, president and head of the Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics. “I expect significant growth of bada smartphones volume thanks to the launch of mass market targeting Wave 2 and Wave 2 Pro. We will continue to invest in our open bada platform and offer a wide range of choices and experiences for consumers.”

Samsung's Social Hub has been designed to integrate email, IM and social networking sites on the handset and offers easy management of accounts and messages. In addition, Wave phones sport pre-installed Facebook and Twitter apps, which bring updates and tweets straight to the phone's homescreen. Not to mention that Wave 2 enables users type messages either via the on-screen keyboard or via the physical one, as it comes with a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

Wave 2 and the Wave 2 Pro come with Wi-Fi connectivity, as well as with support for Google Latitude and geo-tagging, so that one can share location or tag photos at ease. The phones also sport support for a nice range of applications, available for download from Samsung Apps. The Samsung Wave 2 (S5250) and Wave 2 Pro (S5330) are expected to hit the market in August in Russia and South East Asia. They should arrive in a nice range of colors, including metallic black, pearl white and romantic pink.
