Sales of Samsung’s latest flagship model, the Galaxy S4, aren’t going as well as planned, it seems, and the latest news from the company comes as confirmation of that.

A recent article on ETNews claims that the vendor has cut the Galaxy S4 component orders to only 6.5 million units for July (down from 10 million back in April and 12.2 million in May), which is a clear indicator that sales are dropping significantly.

Initial sales of the smartphone were strong, with 4 million units sold in the first weekend of availability, and over 10 million devices shipped in less than a month, but it seems that inventories are currently piling up due to weak demand, as UnwiredView notes.

Furthermore, it appears that Galaxy S III, last year’s flagship from the company, will see an early retirement, a move that might boost Galaxy S4’s sales a bit.
